For over 30 years, ADRA has implemented various projects throughout Kenya. Currently, ADRA’s work is mainly in Turkana, Mandera, Kitui, Makueni and Siaya counties.
TOGETHER Project.
Uniting Towards Gender Equality for enjoyment of women’s and girls’ Total Health and Rights

Interventions

  • Promoting equitable use of health services by empowering and reducing barriers preventing access for adolescent girls and women (AGW) and children U5 through activities focusing on building self-confidence, Female and Male Champion Groups, and gender-responsive training that target boys, men, parents/caregivers, and other key gatekeepers.
  • Improving the provision of gender-responsive and inclusive health, social, and nutrition services for the most vulnerable AGW and children U5, by increasing the capacity of service providers, caregivers, and educators, and increasing support from duty-bearers.
  • Increasing community-led actions to reduce structural barriers to healthrelated rights, especially sexual and reproductive health, and rights (SRHR), by building the capacity of the most vulnerable AGW in action planning, utilizing the innovative Community-led Monitoring Evaluation and Learning (ColMEAL) methodology, and supporting grassroots women’s organizations

Core Group Polio Project

Interventions

  • Strengthen Polio outbreak and epidemic preparedness, detection, and response capabilities in communities deemed at high risk of infectious disease threats through a multi-sectoral approach.
  • Contribute to polio eradication by increasing population immunity and enhancing surveillance for Acute Flaccid Paralysis (AFP) and Priority.

Nature Positive Food Systems for Climate Change Adaptation

Interventions

  • To Improve low carbon, climate resilient economies in rural areas of Kitui Rural Sub-county, Kenya for enhanced well-being of communities, especially women, girls, and other vulnerable groups

Nyalgunga Women Empowerment Project

Interventions

  • Building the capacity of widows in enterprise development, management and group savings & loaning.
  • Offering psychosocial support to the target group.
  • Awareness creation on succession and protection of the Widows property

GEA Kenya Pilot Project -Restoring Trees and Livelihoods in Kenya

Interventions

  • Supporting communities in degraded landscapes rehabilitation and improved carbon stocks.
  • Support in increasing community diversification and sustainable income streams through carbon market engagement.
  • Promotion of evidence and learning for climate mitigation and generation of adaptation options.
